The Buckeye girls track and field team turned in one of its brightest moments of the season Friday, setting a new school record in the Distance Medley Relay while finishing eighth with 47 points at the Olmsted Falls Bulldog Relays. In a rainy, highly competitive meet, Buckeye showed its depth across hurdles, relays and field events against a full eight-team field.
The headline performance came from the Distance Medley Relay team of Lily Regiec, Maycie Bodak, Sophia Regiec and Hayleigh Kreeger, which placed fifth in 14:03.61 and established a new school record. Even in difficult conditions, that group delivered a memorable result for the Bucks and gave the meet a standout moment that reflected both endurance and composure.
Buckeye also found success in the hurdles, where the Shuttle Hurdles Relay team of Kaylee Limbert, Aubrey Keenan, Erin Salazar and Blakely Herman finished third in 1:11.90. Herman added another strong individual effort by taking fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.72, giving Buckeye points in both an individual race and one of the meet’s featured relay events.
In the field events, the Bucks’ long jump relay team of Emma Bostic, Erin Salazar and Avery Lewandowski placed fourth. Bostic led the trio with a jump of 15 feet, 4 inches, followed by Salazar at 14-8.5 and Lewandowski at 13-0.5. Their combined work helped Buckeye stay competitive in a meet where every point was difficult to earn.
Another key finish came from the 4×100 Ironwomen relay team of Natalie Edenfield, Kerrigran Graves, Maddy Velick and Grace Pronik, which took fourth in 1:01.53. Between the record-setting Distance Medley Relay, a third-place shuttle hurdles finish and multiple fourth-place efforts, Buckeye produced a steady stream of highlights despite the wet conditions at Olmsted Falls.
For a Buckeye program that kept competing hard from start to finish, Friday’s results offered more than just team points. The school record from Regiec, Bodak, Regiec and Kreeger gave the meet a lasting mark, and the collection of relay and individual performances showed the kind of fight that can carry momentum deeper into the season.
